Spring Fairies and a Leprechaun

Today is the last day to enter my second giveaway. There are some amazing entries over at Sharing Saturday. Please go check them out and get inspired, and feel free to share your newest creations and ideas while there.

Put Together

Now for a quick Lent feature. From last week's Sharing Saturday, Sheila over at Explore and Express shared her Lenten Table including a wonderful felt cross puzzle. I made one for our table. Thank you for the idea, Sheila! Sorry for my bad lighting!

Now for some nice spring thoughts...
I used the patterns and instructions in All Year Round. It is a wonderful book for celebrating the different seasons and holidays. I started with snow drop fairies. I thought this was a good starting point since it is the only flowers we have seen among our brown late winter/early spring.
My Snow Drop Fairies
The Snow Drops We saw at Cape Cod!
Then I made a Crocus Fairy. Again, I followed the directions in the book. I didn't have a good purple or yellow wool felt, so I used some EcoFelt that I had.

Then I did the final idea in the book which is a yellow primrose. (Again using the yellow EcoFelt.)
Then I got creative. I made a Daffodil Fairy. She kind of looks like she should be the queen of the fairies.

And I made a leprechaun using a similar pattern and playing with the hat. I used some wool stuffing for his beard. (After all, Hazel is named after my Irish grandmother.)
I made them for Hazel's nature/seasonal table, but she likes them because she thinks they are finger puppets.

  8. Omgosh I love your fairies and the leprechaun! I had a go at a simple spring gnome from fabric scraps but I really would like to make a few flower fairies next for our table(it's very bare right now).
