Valentine's Gifts and Doll Party Supplies

Disclosure: I was sent these craft lots to review free of charge from Oriental Trading. All opinions in this post are my own. I did not receive any other compensation for this review. I added links to the particular products for your convenience, but not for any compensation.

Yesterday I shared Hazel's lucky ducky Valentine cards for her classmates and teacher with free printables. It is a little hard to put a card with a rubber duck into an envelope. However we wrapped them in a piece of red construction paper and then used these great We Know What Love Is stickers to seal them.  They are not pretty, but at least the card is hidden and the stickers have a Scripture and Valentine theme. (Hazel goes to a Christian school.)

We also used these great stickers to decorate a heart-shaped vase we bought at The Dollar Tree and to make paper flowers for the vase. This is Hazel's Valentine's Day gift for her teacher.

Hazel also used some scripture stickers we got last year and some gem stickers. She really over decorated the vase with the stickers. Then I saw the Scripture flower over at Christianity Cove. It gave me the idea of using the stickers to make a paper flower. I cut a flower shape out of a piece of scrapbook paper/cardstock weight. Then I stuck a pipe cleaner through the center. Hazel added the stickers.

There are five different stickers from 1 Corinthians 13, so it worked perfectly for a five petal flower. We also made the Scripture flower from Christianity Cove. I did not have any vellum and decided to print the Scriptures for Hazel since she is still working on her writing and tends to write large. I also printed a pattern for the larger hearts to be cut. Hazel picked two pieces of scrapbook paper and we traced the hearts on to them and she cut them out. Then she glued the printed Scripture hearts on to them and put them all on a three-inch scalloped circle of green scrapbook paper that had one side adhesive. I put a hole in the center and put a pipe cleaner through first. Then Hazel added a heart gem in the center.

I think the size is a bit big, but she likes it. If you want the printed Scripture hearts and the pattern for the larger heart you can get the pdf here.  Now we just need to wrap the vase and flowers for Hazel's teacher. Their Valentine's Day party is Thursday since they do not have school on Friday.
On Friday, weather permitting, Hazel is going to host a Valentine's Day doll play date. Some of her friends from school will be bringing their dolls over and the girls will be making crafts for them and having a little tea party for the dolls. One of the ideas we had was this Mini Valentine Pinata. It is the perfect size for the dolls and a great decoration for the play date/party. I made a doll pinata stick out of a dowel by gluing on some strips of tissue paper. I am sure the pinata will put all the girls and dolls in the party mood. The girls will also be decorating mailboxes for their dolls and making Valentines for each other's dolls. We have lots of fun ideas with more to share soon!

Our last Valentine's Day product from Oriental Trading is plush heart-shaped dry erase board erasers. They make the perfect throw pillows for 18-inch dolls. (They also work well as dry erase board erasers--Hazel tried one out on her board.) My plan is to make either a chair or couch for her dolls and use them as throw pillows as well as decorative pillows on her doll beds. The package has four colors. Hazel's favorite is the red ones!

We also received some fun products for Easter for Hazel's dolls. We will be reviewing those in March! Stay tuned!!
