It also helps that we have had beautiful weather so we have been getting outdoors a lot. Or perhaps it is the combination of those two things and this great book as our guide. The book is The Curious Nature Guide by Clare Walker Leslie.
The Curious Nature Guide is a book written for everyone. It reminds us to pause and notice the nature around us no matter where we are. Throughout this beautiful book are suggestions to notice more of the world around you.
One of our favorites was to look for nature items with the same characteristic. We chose to look for things with yellow on them. We found all sorts of yellow in plants, animals, and even bees.
The chicken is our neighbors. Hazel was the lucky one who got to bring home one of the chickens' eggs too. Oh, our neighbors also keep bees and one of the pictures above is of their bees.
Hazel has loved spending the days outside. Her favorite thing is having a picnic.
Of course she also loves seeing all the animals. She loves seeing the bunny!!
We also have stopped and parked to get pictures twice of the swan near our house. We were very excited to see she had babies with her.
So if you want to get in touch with nature (and who doesn't), check out this great book. It has so many wonderful ideas of noticing and enjoying nature.
There are various activities and crafts to help one remember the beauty of the nature as well.
So please excuse my lack of posts as we are outside enjoying our summer and time together and taking notice of the nature all around us. Will you join us? Be sure to check out this great book for inspiration!!
