This weekend I am sharing two books with you. They each are for parts of crafting and sharing crafts, but not craft books per say. The first is Here's a Brilliant Idea by The Brothers McLeod. This book is being released this week!!
This book is filled with pages with blanks and creativity starters. There is everything from writing poems and finishing stories to creating your own comic characters and drawing the characters to a comic strip (words already written). It has some ideas that just get you thinking and also laughing. There are things like list five things you would like to try if they weren't a crime, draw a map of an imaginary place, design an impossible building and so many more!! There are over 100 activities to spark your creativity, imagination and more and they will all pull you out of your every day groove.
The McLeod Brothers are Greg and Myles and are known for their animations, writing and production of television series, games and the web. The have won awards for their work with the BBC. Their writing in this book is humorous and gets one laughing as well as creating. It is the perfect idea to break your day to day humdrum.
Our second book is Picture Perfect Social Media by Jennifer Young. This book is for anyone who takes pictures!! If you are like me and no where near a professional photographer, you need this book--especially if you are about to buy a new camera. What can I say, I didn't get to take too many photographs when I was young, my father or sister always did. My sister actually was a professional photographer at one point, so I left the photographing to her. However I do like to have photos for memories and of course I post them here all the time as well. I do my best but with this book I can do better.
This book goes through all those confusing photography technical terms and explains them and how to use those parts of the camera to your advantage. Next it goes through the various subjects of your photographs and here she consults a top blogger in that subject to help explain the composition and details of taking photographs of the subject. The subjects are Food, Kids, Pets, Interior and Homes, Travel, Fashion, and Special Events. Finally the book also explains things about getting your pictures on-line and digital quality. In an era where everyone is taking photographs and posting them on various social media this book helps everyone improve their pictures and posts. I hope you will check it out!
