It's a Small World Felted Friends -- a Crafty Weekends Review & Link Party

Disclosure: Tuttle Publishing sent me this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Tonight I am sharing a fun needle felting book. It gives instructions to make miniature needle felted animals, buildings, and other things that make you think of certain countries. It even includes a mini flag garland. The book is It's a Small World Felted Friends by Sachiko Susa.

This book has miniature projects representing India, China, United Kingdom, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, France, Italy, Netherlands, Finland, Palau, Germany, Canada and United States. The front cover shows some from India, United Kingdom, Russia, New Zealand, China and Mexico. To give you and idea of scale, the elephant is about 2.75 inches tall and just over 4 inches long. Hazel and I started by making some of the flags. She made Italy's and I made Finland's.

I also started the Canadian bear. I need to finish his face. They also have him on land with trees, but I do not have the things I need to make the land. All of their land is made with a piece of felting mat covered in wool roving and felted. I do not have extra mat to do this right now.

The instructions are very clear and there are many illustrations. There is an actual size picture of every part, so you can see the proper size and shape and compare yours to the picture. There are so many fun projects. The Canadian bear is on the top left corner of the back of the book.

The projects are very fun. I love the ones from the Netherlands.

So are you ready to travel the world with your needle felting? I hope you will check out this book. The projects are so cute and easy to make.
