Disclosure: Tuttle Publishing sent me these kits in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Wow, where did this week go? It has been very crazy here. What about with you? Tonight we are sharing three fun origami kits. With dragons, animals, and a city, there is a little something for everyone. We will start with Flying Dragons Paper Airplane Kit by Sam Ita and Paul Frasco.
This kit comes with two types of paper--rectangular and square. Each sheet is decorated to make a specific dragon from the instruction book. These sheets actually make the projects even easier. The designs provide fold lines.
The instructions in this kit are easy to follow. They are very clear. The introduction instructions are very simple. There are twelve different dragon paper airplane projects in the book.
I tried making the Quetzalcoatl which is made with a rectangular paper.
This is the easiest project in the book to make. I also made the Fireball which is made with a square sheet.
They both also fly great!!
Our next kit is Origami Animals by Michael G. LaFosse. This kit comes with 98 sheets of square paper and an instruction book for 21 projects.
The instructions are easy to follow. Many of the animals are similar to traditional origami animals.
I decided to try the Barking Dog Head. I used one of the fur designed sheets. I also made the Skunk. I used a black paper with a white back side.
This kit has everything you need to make some cute animals that can be used on cards or crafts or just as animals to play.
Our final kit for tonight is Origami City by Joel Stern. This kit has stickers and a fold-out city map as well as sheets of paper to make houses, cars, trucks, trains, planes and helicopters as well as trees and some bonus projects.
I made a tree, train and house for my city. Unfortunately I feel the scales are off a bit for the different projects and the city map.
The map is double sided. The front is colorful and the back can be colored.
The kit also has two pages of stickers to decorate your projects. There are birds for the trees, people for the vehicles and more!
I could see this kit giving kids many hours of play with the projects and map. I hope you will check it and the other ones out!! We are having fun with all of them.
