Gift Boxes to Decorate and Make: Christmas -- a Crafty Weekends Review & Link Party

Disclosure: Candlewick Press sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Looking for a fun way to present gifts instead of the usual wrapping paper or gift bags? Check out this amazing book--Gift Boxes to Decorate and Make: Christmas illustrated by Sarah Walsh. This book has 24 pages that turn into a gift box and sticker tags to seal them.

The square page pulls out easily and has a perforated item that turns into the box. Every surface that will show inside and out has something to color.

I picked a fun woodland box to color. Each side of the box has a different woodland animal on it. The top has snowflakes and ornaments. The bottom of each box has a place for the colorer to sign and the inside has more pictures to color including a large one on the bottom.

Can you imagine opening the gift and after removing the gift having a fun picture to see? I love this little rabbit. Hazel chose to do a nutcracker box. She however got a bit lazy on the inside and did not want to do the individual little pictures.

She did not glue her corners to keep the box together, but it is an easy fix. We have not used the sticker seals yet either since there are not gifts inside yet.

This is such a fun way to wrap a gift and have a child involved in the gift. Let your child color the box to put a gift for a grandparent or special person in his or her life and the box itself is a personalized gift. Wouldn't you love one? Be sure to check out this fun book.
