Holiday Fun -- a Merry Monday Review

Disclosure: I was sent these books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Can you believe it is December? Now the winter holidays are fast approaching!! Today I am going to share four fun holiday books for recommended ages of 3 to 7. The first is a sweet book about getting a Christmas tree. It is Pick a Pine Tree by Patricia Toht and illustrated by Jarvis.

This book shares the joy of picking a tree to cut down and bringing it home and of course decorating it (and hosting a tree decorating party). I know one of my favorite things to do is decorate our tree and then of course to look at it with its lights on. What are your favorite Christmas joys?

The book has beautiful pictures and simple rhymes that get anyone in the Christmas spirit. It brought back so many memories of going to cut down a tree from my childhood and just decorating the house. It is a fun way to get in the mood to get a Christmas tree.

For more books and posts on Christmas trees check out: the history of Christmas trees, Christmas tree books, The Little Christmas Treedoll Christmas treeour Christmas tree and its special ornaments, fruit Christmas trees, Red and Lulu, pine cone Christmas trees, coffee cup Christmas trees, and Pine and Winter Sparrow (not really a Christmas story but a pine one).

Our next book is by Terry Border and his fun food character style. Hazel loves these books!! They are so creative. This time it is Merry Christmas, Peanut! Little Peanut is setting off for Grandma's house with his parents on Christmas day. They experience some problems and make some friends and have a whole lot of fun on the way and once they get there. It is a tale of how being with more people can be more fun and will be sure to have you laughing and smiling. I always love how the food is used throughout the book. For example they are playing hockey on a popsicle. Be sure to check out this fun book for the holidays!!

Our next book is for young kids who love their elf on the shelf or just elves. This is a bit of a counting book. It is Elf in the House by Ammi-Joan Paquette and illustrated by Adam Record. A little girl wakes during the night and checks to see what made the noise. There are only crumbs left of Santa's snacks so could he be in the house? She finds different friends as she searches the house and they count along the way. The girl is first and the mouse is second...

It is cute but does not have too much of a story to it. Plus the girl ends up partying with Santa when she gets out of bed. I'm not sure I like that message.

Our next book is perfect for your ninja loving boys!! It is Ninja Claus! by Arree Chung. Maxwell didn't get the snake he wanted last year. Instead Santa brought him a hamster. He has set up some ninja traps for Santa so he can see him this year, but Maxwell doesn't catch Santa or get a snake, but he is very happy with this year's gift. Once again the book has a young child out of bed during the night, but his one his mother catches him (and the others) and puts them back in bed. It is a cute story and is perfect for the little ones that want to sneak around and think they are great ninjas.

So there is a collection of books for your 3- to 7-year-olds that will get them enjoying the holiday season!! I hope you will check them out!
