Spring is my favorite time of the year. I love seeing the flowers blooming and life coming back to the world after the cold winter. I shared the view we have had this past week when pulling into our driveway on my Instagram account (do you follow me?). However the irises are already starting to die off. So today I am sharing a great book to make your own paper flowers that won't die on you. The book is Paper Flowers by Jennifer Maker.
This book provides instructions to make ten different projects using things like paper plates, copier paper, cupcake liners, tissue paper and more. The book provides patterns to either copy or trace or if you have a Cricut or Sihlouette you can download the svg files. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
The projects range in size. Some are small like the dandelions and others are oversized like the peonies and daisies. I love how the book shows using them in different ways--hair decorations, party decor or house decor as well as a wedding bouquet. I had to try some. I made the giant daisy out of paper plates.
Hazel and I love it hanging in our family room. It was fun to make. The instructions were clear as well. I also made a dandelion, but somehow didn't take a photograph. The cutting on this one takes quite a bit of time. Having a cutting machine would make them much easier!!
I also had to try making one of the coffee filter roses (not the giant rose but the ones in the bouquet). When I took this picture it was still a bit wet and I hadn't been able to shape the petals yet. I wish I had known to use a pen close to the color I wanted the petals instead of pencil. As it dries I am loving it even more. Again the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I can't wait to try some more of them. I hope you will check it out!!
It is time to see what you have been creating! Thank you to everyone who shared with us last party. Below are a few of the features from our party. I am sharing some party features, some various craft features and bag features. Please remember for your child-oriented crafts, activities, lessons, etc. Sharing Saturday is going on!! I can't wait to see what your latest creations!!
