Adorable Pom Pom Animals -- a Crafty Weekends Review & Link Party

Disclosure: Tuttle Publishing sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Can you believe today is the last day of March? That means it is the last day of National Craft Month. In honor of the month, I wanted to share with you a fun book by Kazuko Ito. It is Adorable Pom Pom Animals: Dogs, Cats, and Other Wooly Friends

This book combines pom pom making, needle felting and more. Talk about fun crafts!! I will admit I haven't pulled out my pom pom makers so I haven't tried a project from the book yet, but look at how adorable the animals are. I love how the texture of the pom pom gives the animals fur and texture. Now I will admit I don't always like to work with wool since I'm slightly allergic to it. It makes me itch to touch it for too long. But these projects are simply adorable!!

The variety of animals is wonderful. There are household animals, farm animals and lots of wild animals. Some are the heads of the animals and some are the full animals. It is so fun and has such amazing ideas.

The book is very thorough with its instructions. Each project has many photographs as well as winding diagrams. There is a list of materials for each one and the instructions are complete and easy to follow. I have a strong desire to go find my pom pom makers so I can try some of these adorable projects. The details of the animals are made with felt or needle felting and then plastic eyes and noses may be used. Which type of animal (or project) would you make?

There are also complete instructions and explanations about the materials and tools. I love the details spent on the types of yarn as well as pom pom makers and more.
