Well school has started here and Mother Nature has turned the switch to fall weather. But after a few weeks off from Crafty Weekends we are back!! Today I am sharing a fun origami kit perfect for Sunday School and Bible lessons for kids. It is Origami Bible Stories for Kids Kit by Andrew Dewar.
This kit provides the instructions, origami papers and background pages for different Bible stories. The stories include Adam and Eve, Noah and the Flood, Moses and the Ten Commandments, David and Goliath, Christmas, Easter, Daniel and the Lion's Den, Christ the Good Shepherd, and the Annunciation. The papers provided are specific for this kit and have fold lines and numbers on them. It makes it very easy to follow the instructions. It also makes the characters and animals look like the story.
I began by making Adam. I didn't get to make Eve or the serpent yet. However you can see Adam and the background to go with the story. There are only three backgrounds. This one however I see as being able to use with many of the stories. There is also a sheet of stands with instructions in the book on how to use them. The idea of this kit is to give actual figures to tell the stories or for the child to play and tell the story.
I made a few of the animals and Noah for Noah and the Flood. You can see the background is the ark. I love how the bears turned out. I also made the Good Shepherd and used the sheep from the this story. We were just talking about the Good Shepherd at church this morning.
At our church we use a Sunday School curriculum called Godly Play with the idea of kids learn best when playing so I love having the pieces to tell the stories. This is basically the basis of our curriculum. I wish there were ways to get the figures without the special papers so each child could make their own. However the instructions are relatively easy and I love the theme of this kit. I hope you will check it out.
Now let's party!! Thank you to everyone who shared with us at our last party. Just a reminder that we do not feature any of the food/recipe posts and ask you not to share them here.
