Books to Learn about Animals

Disclosure: I was sent copies of these books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Today I want to share two fun new books about animals. From a very young age Hazel was in love with animals and wanted to learn all about them. I tend to gravitate to books about animals because of her interest. Today I am going to share two books that will teach kids about animals. The first is Endangered Animals and How You Can Help by Sam Hutchinson and Sarah Dennis.

This book is absolutely beautiful!! The artwork in it is paper cuts. The book begins by discussing endangered animals and how they are categorized by their risk. Then the book goes through different environments and animals that live in it. The animals range from ones that are not concerned to ones that are extinct and they go along a line to show where they fall in the range. It shares a bit about each of the animals and their habitats. Then there is information about what is hurting them and what you can do to help stop the issues. Then there is a beautiful paper cut with the animals in their environment. The reader can search for each type of animal that has been shared there.

The book covers rain forest, desert, ocean, savanna, mountains, forests, and polar. Then it shares even more ways to help the animals. The information is short and kids will find it interesting.

I would put this book to be for ages 4 to 8.  I know Hazel would have loved finding animals in the pictures when she was younger as well as learning about the animals and their risk levels. This book is on my Holiday Gift Recommendation List

Our other book is a National Geographic Kids book. It is Nerdlet: Animals by T. J. Resler. It is recommended for ages 8 to 12.

Now I love National Geographic Kids books. they are always full of fun information and great photos. This one does not disappoint. It is full of two page spreads about a type of animal that includes a bit about it, fun facts, photos, and a special thing about the animal. The animals range from mammals to insects and more. Then there are small blurbs about other animals in different categories like snuggly types and pop art. Then there are fun "quizzes" that help answer things like which pet should you get or what kind of fox would you be. This book is full of fun things to keep kids entertained and learning. It is another great National Geographic Kids book.

I love that the book includes animals that are pets like betta fish and dogs to more less known animals like the diving bell spider and shrike. This book gives fun facts about all sorts of animals and will let the kids have fun while reading and learning. I hope you will check it out!
