Disclosure: I was sent copies of these calendars in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Do you still use wall calendars? I love having them. We actually use quite a few. I have one in my classroom, one near our desk computer, one in my sewing room and my husband hangs one in our bedroom too. Plus, he has one next to his desk. I always love seeing what different calendars are offered and I also think of them as great gifts. The pictures are often beautiful or fun and it helps to have the paper calendar to check dates, appointments, etc. Last week I shared two Page-A-Day calendars that I will use in my classroom, but today I am sharing two wall computers based on some of my favorite things: birds and teapots. The first calendar is Audubon Kids Birding Calendar 2024 by National Audubon Society, and the second is The Collectible Teapot Calendar 2024 by Sarah Archer with photos from Betty Shin Binon.
From the Publisher:
Got Binoculars?Meet the birds in your own backyard and beyond. From the National Audubon Society, this calendar is packed with activities that use birding to get kids truly immersed in nature. Improve powers of observation with a Bird Sign Scavenger Hunt. Learn fascinating facts: Did you know that crows and ravens are some of the most intelligent animals on the planet? Yes, they can even make tools! And find out what you can do to help protect birds and their habitats. Includes a flock of stickers to mark special days and events. Printed on responsibly sourced paper.
From Me:
Now my love of birds made me want this one. I also have a student who is an avid bird watcher. I am thinking I will use this one for my classroom wall calendar. Each month has a photograph of a bird with information about it. Then there is an activity at the bottom of the page. The activities include crafts, scavenger hunt, quizzes, fun facts and more. It is perfect for a classroom or family. It is also fun for a bird unit.
The calendar part has good sized squares to write in events, appointments, etc. The moon phases are marked as are holidays from around the world including the various heritage month. It also comes with a page of stickers that are perfect for kids. The stickers include camp, sleepovers, no school as well as bird and sighting stickers. They are everything a child would love to mark!
So if you are a bird lover like me, want your kids to learn to love nature and birds or just want to get them outside more, or know someone who would love this calendar, be sure to check it out. On a completely different style is our next calendar.
From the Publisher:
“Tea is the only simple pleasure left to us.”—Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian GrayIt’s teatime: Enjoy the conversation, delicious treats, and, of course, a cup of tea. One lump or two? This beloved calendar is a tribute to the lovely ritual of afternoon tea, featuring a dozen vintage teapots and beautifully arranged tea tables. A stunning turquoise teapot marries a traditional silhouette with a distinctly modern “crackle” glaze. A whimsical “apple” tea set makes a garden brunch extra charming. Accompanying the full-color photographs are quotes and captions packed with fascinating history and lore. Printed on responsibly sourced paper.
From Me:
I have a collection of teapots. It began with one I fell in love with back in college and I have slowly added more from various places and have been gifted quite a few. As a tea drinker it seems right to enjoy teapots. There is also a group of women (high school students and another adult) that I am part of that like to have tea parties. So lately tea is a big thing for me. Needless to say I was excited to see this calendar. It speaks to me and my love of tea and beautiful things.
The pages include information about the tea set as well as the creator of it and the area it comes from and more. There is also a quote each month. Whether you are a serious collector of teapots or just enjoy pretty things with a cup of tea, you will love this calendar. It is interesting to see the history of the various teapots. Tea is such a widely enjoyed drink around the world and teatime brings wonderful thoughts to many whether it is a young girl's party or perhaps a baby shower or more. And of course, there is high tea. All the fanciness is here with these teapots as well as art and history.
This calendar is perfect for tea lovers and teapot collectors. The dates are in smaller rectangles instead of the squares of the bird calendar. It has various holidays from around the world on it. It also has the various heritage months.
These are just two of the many wall calendars to choose from. There is literally one for everyone on your list. Be sure to check out all the different ones.
