Disclosure: I was sent a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am working with The Children's Book Review and Alysson Foti Bourque to bring you this post and giveaway.
Do you ever get worried on Sunday about the week ahead? I know as a teacher I often have trouble sleeping Sunday nights. I'm also known to have my teacher nightmares on Sunday nights. Today I am sharing a book about the Sunday scaries as well as other fears and a group of friends who help each other overcome fears. The book is Alycat and the Sunday Scaries by Alysson Foti Bourque and illustrated by Chiiara Civati. This is part of the Alycat series, which I have reviewed a couple of books from previously.

From Me:
Like the other Alycat books this book is sweet. I love how the kittens help one another and work together. In this book they are overcoming fears. Alycat has the Sunday scaries and is sure Monday will be the worse day ever. Another friend has a new bike which is taller than her last and she is scared of falling. Another climbs too high and is afraid to come down. Then there is the one who is selling lemonade but is afraid to talk to kittens she doesn't know. There is also one afraid to ride her new bike since it is higher than her old one. Together they help each other overcome fears and realize that life is truly better with friends. The end of the book shares tips for a successful and fun lemonade stand too!
I love how the series shows kittens (think kids) who are friends and do things together but also always want to help one another. The kittens are kind and caring. They also want to have fun with one another. Kids can relate to the kittens and their lives. The kittens are always polite with one another and the adult cats. It is a great series. I see Alycat and the Sunday Scaries as the perfect book for kids who are having fears. Whether it is a fear of going to school, heights, talking to strangers, etc. this book shows how with the help of friends those fears do not seem so bad. It would also be a great to read with a class and talk about how the class members can support one another. To go with the book a cat craft is perfect. I recently shared a cat craft round-up.
