When Hazel went to a Waldorf School when she was young, we fell in love with wordless books. Some of Hazel's favorite books when she was young were wordless. Today I get to share a new wordless book. The book is Lost by Bob Staake. It is recommended for ages 3 to 7.

In this fun book a young girl is looking for her cat. She cannot find her in the house or in her yard. She makes signs and hangs them up all over town. She discovers some neighbors who have lost their pets as well. As the young girl looks for her cat, she finds two of the other lost pets. While hanging found posters for them she finds her cat stuck up in a tall tree and luckily the other lost pet shows up to help the cat down.
This sweet story shares the love of pets as well as the desperation when one is lost. The neighbors share their own stories of lost pets including a lost giraffe. The book is sweet as well as humorous. After all, who has a pet giraffe? I love the fact that kids can tell their own stories from the pictures. The book will teach sequencing as well as beginning logic. Wordless books also help grow imaginations. This book definitely will do this.
