This is an entertaining story. Two boys are having fun at summer camp which is on Lake Omigosh. The legend goes the lake got its name because whenever some sees the mysterious creature of the lake they say "Oh, my gosh!" and have trouble describing the creature to anyone. The boys are rushing to take a boat out on the lake. They forget the first rule of the camp--where lifejackets when going on the water. Then a storm sneaks up on them and they get stuck in the water. Then the boat flips and the boys can't seem to swim anywhere. The monster comes and saves them. They truly learn the meaning of the legend. Apparently, the lake creature is a kind one!
I love how fun this book is. The idea that the lake itself is named after what people say when they see the mysterious lake creature is unique. I also love that the creature saves the boys. The creature is not a mean monster. It gives the book even more fun. The boys continue the legend by saying "Oh, my gosh!" when they see the monster after getting on shore. This is the type of story a parent may make up for children at bedtime or to entertain them. It is creative and fun. Are you ready for an adventure? Check it out!! Then you can come up with your own fun story to tell the kids. Happy reading!
