I am very excited to share another Alycat Series book with you today!! Have you checked out the Alycat Series yet? I have reviewed a few of them previously. Today's has a STEM theme as well as the lesson about friendship each book has. The book is Alycat and the Copycat by Alysson Foti Bourque and illustrated by Chiara Civati. About the Author:
Award-winning author, Alysson Foti Bourque, began her career as a teacher after graduating from the University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Elementary Education. She earned a Juris Doctor law degree from the Southern University Law Center in 2007 and was honored to serve her state as Asst. Attorney General for 8 years. In 2016, Alysson began writing children's books, including the Alycat Series and the Rhyme or Reason Travel Series. Alysson founded Expound Publicity to help authors market their books and was a news contributor for tv segments KidLit Picks and BookEnds.

From Me:
In this sweet book Alycat is excited for the science fair. She has on her favorite shirt with a picture of her favorite mathematician and scientist, Albert Catstein. She is excited to show the judges her magical glitter volcano, but when she gets on the bus she is upset that Lucy has a matching shirt on and is sitting in Alycat's seat. Alycat complains to her friend, Spotty, how Lucy is always copying her. When it is time to set up their projects, she realizes Lucy has the same project as her too. Now she is really annoyed with the copycat. However, when Alycat realizes she has forgotten her baking soda she is devastated. Then Lucy offers her some of hers and saves the day. That is when Alycat realizes that being similar is ok and it is more important to be friends and be kind.
I love the Alycat Series. The books are so sweet and always have messages in them. I love that this one has a STEM theme. At the end of the book there is even instructions to make your own glitter volcano! This book is fun and full of cat puns. It is a fun read with important messages and themes. Plus, the characters are kittens, so kids are going to love them!! As with all the books I have reviewed from this series, the book is wonderful and will be a great one for sharing with a class or at home. I hope you will check it out!
