Ghost-Spider's Unbreakable Mission -- Easy Reader Book Review

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Today we are sharing another of the After-School Heroes Series. These are great easy reader chapter books and perfect for fans of superheroes. Today's book is Ghost-Spider's Unbreakable Mission by Mackenzie Cadenhead and illustrated by Dave Bardin. It is recommended for ages 5 to 9.

From the Publisher:

Gwen Stacy tries to balance her homework with her responsibility as Ghost-Spider in this original Marvel chapter book with black-and-white illustrations throughout!

Gwen Stacy has homework over the weekend: she has to carry a chicken egg everywhere she goes without breaking it. It should be easy enough for the average student, but Gwen is Ghost-Spider, with a duty to swing in and save the day whenever she sees a need.

So when a winged villain comes onto the scene, can Ghost-Spider stop him mid-flight without sabotaging Gwen’s chance for an egg-cellent grade?

Find out in this chapter book that’s perfect for Marvel fans beginning to read on their own or for reading aloud!

From Me:

I love how this series has students who are superheroes. Gwen gets that famous class assignment of taking care of an egg. Gwen thinks she is all set for this big responsibility since she is a superhero, but it isn't as easy as she thinks especially when she happens on some villains trying to sell a rare bird and her egg. Ghost-Spider saves the bird a couple of times but there is an egg mix-up and more.

I love the play on words with the unbreakable mission and a few egg jokes and of course that she has to save a bird and her egg. The story is fun and easy to read. I can see beginning readers enjoying this book. Plus of course fans of Spiderman will love the series. Spiderman makes an appearance in this book.

The story is action packed and fun. The pictures make it easy to follow all the action. There is a lot of quick thinking on Gwen's part and kids will find it an easy story to enjoy and read on their own. This series is a fun one to get kids excited about reading!
